Studentliga 2025

NTNUI Sailing organized the Invitationals in 2023. In 2025, we will rename and expand it to the Studentliga 2025. Here, students will organize league sailing for students. Initially, we will start with an event in Trondheim from March 27-30, 2025. We are also exploring the possibility of a second event, either in Trondheim or another location in Norway.

The event in Trondheim will take place on Melges 24 boats at Tautra. March 27 will be a travel day for all visiting teams. Sailing will take place on March 28-29, with a concluding banquet on Saturday March 29. Sunday, March 30, will be the departure day for visiting teams.

Information has been sent to various student associations in Norway and abroad, inviting them to participate in the Student League 2025. If you are unsure whether your association received this email, please contact them. If they haven’t been notified, they should send an email to seiling-leder@ntnui.no.

We hope you are interested and want to participate in this event. If there is sufficient interest, we are already looking into the possibility of borrowing a Melges from others in Trondheim so we can accommodate even more teams.

Thursday:

  • Dinner: The organizer will provide dinner, but not before 19:00.

Friday:

  • Registration: 08:00 –08:45 o'clock
  • Skippers' meeting: 09:00
  • First start: 10:00
  • Dinner after sailing

Saturday:

  • Skippers' meeting: 09:00
  • First start: 10:00
  • Prize ceremony/banquet as soon as possible after sailing

Sunday:

The first car will depart from Tautra around 10:00.

Since the event takes place at Tautra and there is no convenient public transport from the airport to the area, we are offering airport pickups. To arrange this effectively, it is essential that you send an email with your expected arrival time.

The drive from the airport to Tautra takes approximately 1 hour each way. On the way from the airport to Tautra, participants will have the opportunity to shop at a grocery store. You will need to purchase all your breakfast, lunch, and any other food you might need for the weekend. The organizers will provide dinner each day, but participants are responsible for the rest. This also includes drinks, as the nearest store is not within walking distance of the event location.

The first pickup is planned for 12:00 or as soon as the first team lands. A shuttle will then run back and forth to the airport to pick up the other teams. It is recommended that the latest arrival be by 18:00 to ensure you can join the shared dinner and other social activities.

Important!

After the event concludes, transportation from Tautra back to the airport will be available. The first departure is planned for 10:00. Since the round trip takes about 2 hours, it is recommended to book late flights to ensure you have enough time. The last group will arrive at the airport no earlier than 16:30.

Here you can register your team. It is important that you fill out all the points and register only one team per association. If the organizer sees that there are multiple teams registered from the same association, the organizer reserves the right to remove one of the teams.

It is also recommended that all team members join the Facebook event as well.

As stated in the Notice of Race (NoR), it is allowed to register 4 participants for the event. The regatta is open to Norwegian and international students with a valid semester registration at a university or college. Additionally, each team may include up to one participant who is not a student.

After the sailing is finished, the plan is to hold a prize ceremony/banquet where the top 3 will be awarded prizes.
The dress code for the banquet is smart casual. This means short skirts for the ladies and chinos with dress shirts for the boys.

When not sailing, all teams will wait together on Steinbiten, which is anchored at the course area. It is a Hanse 370. This means you will be out on the water from 10:00 o'clock until the sailing is finished. There is a toilet on the boat and a stove if you want something warm to drink.

In Trondheim in March, the average temperature is 1–4 degrees Celsius. Therefore, it is important to bring enough clothing to stay warm.

The Facebook event will serve as the official notice board. Here, the Notice of Race (NoR), Sailing Instructions (SI), and other important documents will be posted. It will also be the channel we use during the championship.

This website will be used as a summary/provide a clear overview of the most important information leading up to the event.

The event will take place at Trondhjem Seilforening's cabin at Tautra. There will be sleeping accommodations for everyone, and dinner and such will be served here. The banquet will also be held at this location. Here's a picture of the area 🙂

The boats will be anchored out at sea. At the start of the day, those participating will be transported to the boats to rig them.
