Warmer times are approaching, and we are getting ready for a new and exciting sailing season here in Trondheim. Although the snow is still falling and the pavement is slippery, we are looking forward to the first voluntary work of the year on Saturday 25 March. We look forward to seeing many of our members contribute whatever help is needed when the Ynglings and Melges boats go out into the water again.
A new season also means a new beginner’s course. This is something we at NTNUI Sailing are really looking forward to! The spring beginner’s course will take place in the period 14.04-16.04. We look forward to meeting all our new members over a weekend of sailing, theory and social activities. Here, our new members will receive an introduction to boat handling, sail trimming and how to behave on the water. If you didn’t get a place on the spring beginner’s course, just keep your eyes open, as we have one at the start of the semester in the autumn too!
Only two weeks after the beginner’s course, there will be plenty of activity as we will organize the NTNUI Invitationals. Here there will be room for both beginners and experienced people to learn something and have fun. We will sail Ynglings in league format and Melges24 in standard format! We look forward to participating in the exciting regattas in Trondheim and hope for even and good competition.
All information and future events can be found on our Facebook page. So, then it’s just a matter of welcoming everyone to a new season with NTNUI Sailing and hoping that the weather gods bless us with great conditions!
